You will be driven to the Marangu gate in the morning, which serves as the starting point for all Kilimanjaro hikes that take the Marangu route. Nature and culture will be abundant, as expected. You will have the chance to take images of the magnificent and powerful Kilimanjaro and get a sense of the mountain's majesty. On this all-day tour, you will learn about the Chagga tribe's long history and distinctive traditions, which are practiced in the area surrounding Marangu.
You will learn how coffee is cultivated, harvested, and processed locally at our next destination, a small coffee farm. Learn how to prepare a fresh cup of coffee by processing, roasting, and doing it yourself. After your coffee break is over, we'll head to the breathtaking Ndoro (Marangu) Waterfalls. We'll stroll through a lovely area on our way to the waterfall's base, which will take around an hour. You have the chance to unwind and cool yourself in the waterfall's pool right here. Visiting the Chagga Live Museum and the Chagga Underground Caves would be another exciting experience to have.
When the Maasai migrated up the lower slopes of Kilimanjaro, they killed and enslaved the indigenous Chagga people there. To defend themselves, the Chagga constructed a complex network of underground caves. While you tour the caves, your guide will vividly explain the conflict. We continue our stay at the Chagga Live Museum, a tiny outdoor museum where you can learn more about daily life among the Chagga. When we pause for lunch in a tiny restaurant as part of our trip, we also get to taste some Chagga food. A typical hot lunch will be provided here, and you'll afterward get the option to taste local drinks like banana beer and wine. Then after, returning to Moshi or Arusha in the late afternoon.
