Day 1: Arusha - Momella Gate - Miriakamba Hut

In the morning, a driver will pick you up at your hotel in Arusha or Moshi and take you to the Arusha National Park Gate. Before bringing you to Momella Gate, your guide will finish the appropriate entrance procedures for your 4 days and 3 nights of Mount Meru hiking. An armed park ranger will be with you as you start the 4 days Meru climb and get your first glimpse of the spectacular giraffes and buffalos. After a brief rest at Maio Falls, you continue on your journey to the legendary "Arched Fig Tree." In another one and a half to two hours, we will arrive at the Miriakamba Hut. having dinner and spending the night in the Miriakamba Hut.
Day 2: Miriakamba Hut - Saddle Hut

After leaving the Miriakamba Hut in the morning, you will ascend a rocky path with wooden steps. At an elevation of 3200 meters, you will arrive at the viewpoint "Mgongo wa Tembo" (Elephant back) after hiking for about two hours. Here, you can take a well-deserved rest. You will reach Saddle Hut (3550m) for a leisurely lunch break around lunchtime after another climb through a habitat that changes from rainforest to open bushland. The afternoon offers the chance to take a detour to Little Meru (3820m), where you can enjoy stunning views of Kilimanjaro and Arusha National Park. While getting ready for the hike to the summit the next day, a delicious dinner is waiting for you in the hut. Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner
Day 3: Saddle Hut - Miriakamba Hut

Elevation (ft): 14,977ft to 11,712 ft to 8,250ft
Distance: 5 km up 13 km down
Hiking Time: 10 – 12 hours
Habitat: Alpine Desert Moorland and Montane forest
You will depart for the summit at 02:00 at an early start and a small tea. As you hike by torchlight through the woods, you'll eventually reach Rhino Point (3821m), where the trail becomes a little bit more difficult. The ground will alternate between lava ash and rock as you travel around the north ridge to the peak. The peak and the Tanzanian flag will be in your view after 4 to 5 hours. Enjoy the sunrise over Mount Kilimanjaro as well as the breathtaking view of the crater and "Ash Cone" amid the midst of Mount Meru from the summit.
The descent along the same path back to Saddle Hut (3550 meters), where you can take a well-earned break and recover with hot soup and tea before continuing your journey. You will arrive at Miriakamba Hut (2500m) in the early afternoon, exhausted yet content. You can unwind and reflect on the previous level you finished here. Day 4: Miriakamba Hut - Momella Gate

You will hike back to Momella Gate through the so-called Northern Route in 2 to 3 hours after breakfast. Although the ascent is longer than the descent, there is still a possibility to view giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, and black-and-white Columbus monkeys.
